There are major advantages to dealing with the Arab league.if a deal can be struck the League can impose discipline on its members and give major support to Abbas in his confrontation with Hamas when the time comes.Olmert is making the right move to take things to the next step.Just opening a direct face to face channel with the Arab league will be good.It will also help labor push its more realistic agenda, now that the means to achieve that have been opened up.If things go even half well, it will be hard to claim "there is no one to talk to" and a way to go over the heads of hamas will be opened removing the defacto veto power they have for some time now.Very good development indeed.
