It was and is extremely difficult to release Pollard and much as many in America would like to. Yes from time to time the executive uses powers to do things in self interest like appointments in some areas but`that is internal. This situation is with a foreign country albeit a friendly one. The political risk is great to do such a thing. It would be a lot easier if Israel had an American spy (Wheres Mark Lincoln?????),then an exchange of sorts would work. Now if we could find a CIA operative that is looking for the recipe to a blintz, not there is an opportunity!
