Though I agree Katzav got what he deserved n the end and hopefully this will be a milestone in protecting the dignity and autonomy of israeli women in the Army and workplace, there is a very disturbing aspect to this afair which has nothing to do with Katzav. The Israeli press does not report the news. It lobbies for results despite the facts and edits the news to achieve its agenda. it did it with the Shalit affiar, with Olmet, with protecting sharon during the disengagement and it did it during the whole period prior to Karzav's conviction. Freedom of the press is not the real value. The right of the public to know is the value and the press is suppose to serve that purpose. however if the press is perverted (like pravda as a mouthpiece for a totalitarian regime or by an agenda ideological driven elite like in israel) then the public really does not kknow the facts. The public is being manipulated and abused and the democratic process is subverted.
