There is tale of a young Yeshiva student who as a pledge for fasting must refrain from drinking. The day was very warm and he passed by the fountain in the square which murmered with refreshing water. The student looked to his right, he looked to his left and seeing he was alone approached the well. At the brink of partaking however he remembered his vow and walked away - not unobserved however by his teacher. "Vasilator" his teacher pronounced - "You did not drink but you were lured by temptation." The student was humbled.
