Abir Aramin's killing is a ghastly tragedy. Like other kids, both Arab and Jewish, that are dying in the Israel-Arab conflict, are the victims of a myopic hatred. One can't help being reminded of the blood feud between the Montagues and Capulets and its consequences. At least Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet is only a theatrical drama. In the Middle East, the tragedies are for real! Whereas in the play, there was light at the end of the tunnel, here only the hopes of a minority including Aramin Senior are keeping the flame of conciliation alive.
