No. 135, John Nemesh, is lying when he libelously charges that Vanunu was paid by the Sunday Times of London for his information. The Sunday Times of London absolutely did not, at least during that decade and for some time after, pay for stories. I say this as a journalist and a colleague and friend with several editors and reporters there. I don't know that they pay for stories today, only that I wouldn't vouch for the integrity of any media organization in the age of Britney Spears and Paris Hilton. While it's perfectly fine to profess varying opinions about the morality and wisdom of Vanunu's behavior, there is no question that his motives were ideological, not financial. We can only presume that Mr. Nemesh is too intellectually shallow to argue his position based on its merits, or else he wouldn't need to resort to slime.
