Mindless violence, uncouth graffiti; these are the acts of vandal, born out of boredom or plain anti-social behaviour. When the aim is to frighten people, drive them away, it is clearly terrorism. Perhaps not as deadly as a bomb or knife attack, but terrorism nonetheless. Price tag terrorists are targeting innocent civilians, Israeli Jews as well as Israeli Arabs, to further their fanatic political ends. The fact that some MKs appear to support such actions, albeit in private, is particularly worrying. It is no different from Arab leaders who denounce attacks on Israelis for the benefit of the western media while putting up statues of suicide bombers and offering big cash payouts to their families. Calling Jews fascists has an uncomfortable feel, given the events of the early to mid twentieth century, but price tag gangs are just that; fascists.

IfNotNow doesn’t deserve the support of left-leaning American Jews

IfNotNow and its co-founder Simone Zimmerman challenge U.S. Jews to end the occupation. But they won't answer this basic question: Do you support a Jewish and democratic state in Israel, alongside a Palestinian state? And if not, why not?
