It is rather interesting to note that over the past few days, the legal aspect of religious matters as regards non-Jews shows with acuity. The State of Israel is very legal, very respectful, in its fundamentals and priorities, by legacy and justice. In the neighbouring countries (Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Saudi Arabia) the fate of the the christian clergy and faithful would be resolved very simply and "period". The "loonies" would be out. But hte christian clergy would not have dared say a word - at least not two/three. In 1948, as war was threatening a "handful of "will-be" Israelis facing daily fights, arrivals of survivors, the Tel Aviv Jewish Government was resolving every day, in crazy circumstances, the requirements of any non-Jewish congregation. At present, loonies can attack any religion and harm the Jewish State because it also seems that the State of Israel should again restructure a good and positive knowledge of the non-Jewish traditions that will anyway co-exist in Israel.
