Burg brings up valid issues. But the forum should be in Israel where robust debate is the norm. Not in Europe where anti semitism is mother,s milk and which Burg pretends to ignore. Citizen of the world? No Mr Burg, you are only a jew in Europe, at best a Hofjude that never learned.Come home. you made a mistake and people will respect you for your tshuvah. And then your credibility will be greater. We need to discuss what kind of Israel we want and how to reconcile a Jewish state with human and civil rights in a democracy. But a debate that is tainted with Europeanism is part of the problem. The fantasised culture you dream of actually died in auschwitz.By the way, the swiss were always considered a democracy, but their women never had the vote until 30 years ago...while golda Meir was already Israel's prime minister.I never heard of the swiss parliament Speaker emigrating in protest or comparing his country to the Nazis. And that is where you crossed the line.
