Is Abbas and his PLA any wiser after the US veto. I wonder how Abbas is feeling now toward his American friends after spending al his credibility in trying to convince others of America ability to deliver peace through negotiations. America's UN representative tried last night to convince us of the logic of the US conduct which I needn't say contradict the logic of 14 members, many of them traditional Israel's supporters. I doubt if many have been conviced by such twisted logic. America, we are told, had to do this to save the peace process. Where is that peace process, no one knows. But one thing is certain though, Abbas will be a fool hardy to go into any negotiation or accept any American guarantees. Last night had shown that Netanyaho policies are taking their toll on Israel support in the world. America had to stand alone on the wrong side of the law defying the will of the overwhelming majority. That is not a comfortable place to be in and can hardly be sustainable. The Palestinian should ignore American pressure and continue with their diplomatic efforts to isolate America further and leave the rest to Netanyaho. Netanyaho policies will eventually convice every body even the Americans that their current policy is neither wise nor sustainable.
