Puzzled, I am, and I fail to see how it can be in the USA's interests to go further than they already have in supporting Israel in recent years. Rampant Zionism, extreme religious protection and regime unaccountability in Israel, all prevent the USA from doing more than they really are now. It is not in the USA's interests to take sides in the Jewish-Moslem tension. In fact, the USA will gradually move to a more neutral stance as its dependence on Middle East oil reduces. Without this encumbrance, the USA can attempt to repair its relations with the Moslem world.
