    Obviously the US can't impose peace on either Israelis or Palestinians. Nevertheless, Israel is at great risk if it undermines its relationship to the United States. Even Americans who generally support Israel do not feel that the Israel deserves financial support, low cost loans, or anything that costs the American tax payer. Moreover, the problem is obviously not the Obama administration, but the Israeli govt's blow hard attitude that has alienated erstwhile supporters like Turkey and EU countries. Israel's foreign policy experts can't be happy that Netanyahu has picked a fight with the Obama administration at a time that Israel needs the U.S. to focus on the looming threat of a nuclear-armed Iran. Achieving peace with the Palestinians and other Arabs, however imperfect, would markedly reduce Iran's capacity to cause trouble through intermediaries. It seems that Netanyahu and his supporters harbor the dangerous illusion that Israel can deal with Iran alone.
