The bottom line is that Israel isn't just going to sit around waiting to be nuked by a regime whose words and actions more closely resembles Hitler's Germany of the 1930's than any other since then. The US, for all its imagery of backing Israel politically, has an extremely poor track record of delivering, when the chips are down, on security "guarantees" it gives Israel in exchange for Israeli restraint. Lip service aside, no Israeli government makes a policy of relying on US guarantees, and the Obama White House has less credibility in Israel than any US gov't in the last 50 years. Bottom Line: Israel will act to defend its existance - it knows Aegis boats bobbing safely way out in the Med are worthless, and last time Israel relied on promises of Patriots (vs. hitting Iraq back), everybody knows what happened: they missed every single time, as the Pentagon knew they would. The Jews had no nukes to wipe out the Nazis in 1938; today is different from then in only one way, NOW WE DO!
