It would have been proper for Israel to complain against Dumbya's policy mistakes, except that it supported them wholeheartedly. Israel pushed for the toppling of Saddam; the Jewish community in the US supported it, the mostly Jewish neocons led the ideological charge; even Daniel Pipes who today criticizes the ongoing war, supported it at the time. As far as Iran, Israel keeps talking about the problem in military terms only, and hint that it might need to attack first. Why complain against Dumbya here? He seems to have learnt something from the Iraq adventure and is more cautious than Israel (we hope). The Likud/Kadima governments of Sharon and Olmert displayed as much shortsightedness as the US did, and as much an inclination for unilateralism. The real problem with an alliance with the US is that the US may not change direction at the same time as Israel is prepared to do so. But Jews are very influential in the US. Israel can speak more loudly, and energize its supporters.
