The problem between the US and Israel is obvious enough. The US says Iran doesn't have a nuclear weapons programme. They do say they could have one if they wanted to, but have so far not decided to have one. Parsing that, it seems analogous to most people having a knife in the kitchen which gives them the capability to murder their neighbours.....but they haven't "yet" decided to murder anyone. On the other hand, Israel claims Iran does have a nuclear weapons programme, but is never able to provide proof of this. To complicate matters, this issue of Iranian nukes always seems to peak in US election years. Obama can be forgiven for thinking Israel is interfering in the US elections.....again. Besides, Obama came to office hoping to work toward peace in Palestine, but with in weeks of saying so Israel had snubbed Secretary of State Clinton, bombed Gaza and threatened to attack Iran. Not the actions of a country interested in any peace process. Message received. It isn't hard to see why Obama now has little time for Mr. Netanyahu.
