You don't say well I want to go after Iran tomorrow so I will save my energy and not deal with the Syrian threat. Also a fact if there is an attack on Iran it will be the Amerticans that carry it out. Iran has said they see Israel and America as 2 sides of the same coin and an attack on its nuclear facilities will lead to an Iranian retaliation against both so even if Israel attacks Iran and the US has no part in it when Iran retaliates they will also fire on US assets provoking a war. I imagine eventually when the US & Israel are agreed diplomacy is going nowhere and if something is not done now Iran will get nukes then Israel & the US will work out a deal whereby Israel attacks with the intent to provoke Iran trying to fire on the US this will then be a formal decleration of war and allow Obama to respond without needing to worry about public opinion or what Congress thinks about the idea of war with Iran ( not a ground war just heavy bombing )

from the article: Before confronting Syria, Israel should consider saving its energy for Iran
