Quote: "Israel was NOT to be forced back to the fragile and vulnerable 1949/1967 Armistice Demarcation lines but to secure and recognised borders" . Barak was well within his rights to regard these borders as 'Substantive' for Israel and to oppose those of Olmert and Ramon as unacceptable. A 'change of mind' is quite the norm when with experience, certain circumstances may bring about a clearer picture of what is actually needed. In this instance Barak sees no necessity for Israel to become a 'sucker' to appease anyone - even George Bush.
