I don't think the upgrading the status of college in Ariel would predjudice in any way the future of Ariel or Samaria. I personally believe, that once Palestinians become an orderly nation without the private armies of mass murder, and express a sincere and serious wish to reach peace with Israel, Ariel will have to be abandoned, unfortunately (or its residents will become Palestinian citizens). Because it is located deep in the Palestinian territory. The Palestinian state cannot be really contigous in Judea and Samaria with Ariel in its midst. However, the future of the Palestinian state is first and foremost up to the Palestinians, not lecturers of Ariel university. And having a good univercity in Samaria is a good thing for the Palestinians. Whether or not is abandoned by Israel, the Palestinian students can study there.
