The "right of return" in the form as asserted by the "Palestinians" is a very unique legal assertion. Not only do the "Palestinians" assert that they (but they alone of all the refugee populations in the world) have an inheritable refugee status that passes from generation to generation, they also assert that ownership (or even prolonged tenancy)of real property also conveys absolute political soveriegnty over that parcel of land. There is no support for these assertions anywhere in International law. In contrast it is the Israeli "Law of return" as it was enacted by the Knesset in order to provide a place of refuge, where there was none before, for Jewish refugees.
