The auther says "The approach currently attributed to Olmert, however, contradicts statements made by the prime minister in an interview with the Associated Press during the course war. In that interview, Olmert said that the IDF's gains in the war would contribute to the implementation of the convergence plan." The auther is wrong on one thing. There is no contradiction. Olmert said if we win, we will be able to do the unilateral withdrawel from West Bank. In other terms, If Israel loses, he will not be able to do it because a unilateral withdrawel will not be able to secure Israel. This is why people that are for negaciated peace and not imposed unilateral fake "peace" backed Hizbollah in this fight. When will you understand that peace needs TWO PARTIES and that there is nothing called unilateral peace and peace by force ?
