How do you know, Daniel? Things do not happen just because you want so. Israel's sovereignty requires international recognition. If nobody recognizes your act the act is invalid. Also, did you give thought to the issue without a Zionist bias? Jerusalem had more Arabs than Jews for 1300 years. Do those that lived there for generations have no right of decision? The historical period when Jerusalem was the actual capital of a united Jewish state lasted less than two hundred years, so the historical claim is not exactly very firm. And, finally, why not divide it between Arabs and Jews in an act of mutual recognition and in the name of peace? Do you think Olmert's statement is going to make a dent in international opinion?
