while at the same time making the whole world think Israel is involved in peace negociations. Anybody knowing this conflict is fully aware that in the 70's palestinian moderates were deported outside of the country, emprisonned or assassinated. The 1st Intifada was peacefull from the palestinian side. Hundreds of demonstrators were killed by the army. Israel's policy has always been to kill any palestinian nationalism. Israel never ever wanted any peace with the palestinians considering them as "wandering arabs". The propaganda has worked big time ! this was decades before Hamas. The Fedayins were a danger, then hte PLO and Arafat, Abu Ala, Abbas, Barghouti....even Hashrawi was an ennemy !!! the world now understands what's going on in the territories thanks to the hard work of Arafat a the time who gained legitimacy. Israel and Sharon demonized him !! what a mistake ! now Israel must deal with Hamas....
