I quote from an article published on JStreet's website 20 January: 'we cannot support a U.S. veto of a Resolution that closely tracks long-standing American policy and that appropriately condemns Israeli settlement policy.' Even moderate jews recognise that further settlement expansion is an impediment to peace and are prepared to take a stand. Constant references by the US administration to continuing settlement in the OPT as 'not helpful' are simply absurd. Settlement in the OPT is not only not helpful it is ILLEGAL. Once it is clearly established that settlement in the OPT is illegal there are definite parameters for discussion - it will help to delineate borders and confine negotiation to essential issues rather than a continuation of a process that does nothing except buy more time for Israel to pursue its 'facts on the ground strategy' that is clearly intended to deny Palestinian self determination and prevent a viable two state solution. Not helpful for whom?????

Why U.K's Labour Party won't confront Muslim anti-Semitism

Too many Labour politicians cravenly adopted the anti-Semitic tropes and anti-Israel demonization they think will get them British Muslim votes, rather than standing up to the prejudice that exists in the community.
