Gideon Levy, do you realize that you could not get a job for any major US television network, major daily newspaper or large mass circulation magazine writing the critical things about Israel that you do? Nor could Amira Hass, Danny Rubinstein, or half a dozen other regular contributors to Haaretz. There is no US counterpart to any of you in any major US media, no one who is regularly and strongly critical of the Israeli occupation, who keeps reminding us of the daily brutality. Instead there are any number of shrieking fools of the Rush Limbaugh, Bill O?Reilly or Glenn Beck variety providing a daily sounding board for Israeli right wing views and screaming about "Islamo-fascists". CNN anchor and former AIPAC lobbyist Wolf Blitzer is a moderate by these standards. In America you would be viciously attacked by the Foxman/Dershowitz crowd as a self hating Jew. Folks would try to get you fired from media or teaching jobs. Shmuel Rossner would probably write approvingly about it!
