    Tzfonit, I believe you are missing an important part of the histroy because what you said about some of the arabs fleeing is actually true but does not contradict the facts I referred to. See they fled because they feared for their lives, this is documented in Israeli intelligence records and not arab propaganda. You should really read on this subject, as Labhras mentioned, Benny Morris wrote about this, and so did others including Ilan Pappe. In fact, if you look at the facts, the arabs were expelled or terrorized into fleeing before the war, so it has nothing to do with winning or losing the war. The mistake we made was that we decided Israel cannot live with its native people, it had to be "emptied". We are fully responsible for this mistake, and correcting it - saying it's not either us or them - will end the hatred the arabs hold for us. That, to me, ensures we live in peace and not always worry that we will be attacked. Look at other colonial countries, we should do the same.
