Mubarak was good for the region. He was a dictator but he wasn't one of the more brutal ones like Assad & Gaddafi. He was a tame US puppet so he did as he was told which helped keep the peace which the Egyptian general public never wanted but the dictators did. He sometimes acted as a mediator between Israel and arabs. He sold Israel gas at bellow market value. He did as he was told and tried to prevent weapons smuggling into Gaza. Israel doesn't care if Egypt is a democracy or a theocracy only its own best interests and Mubarak was good for Israel and the Israeli government is not to happy about losing him a US puppet dictator in favor of an unpredictable elected government with a large percentage made up of islamists. Its just a shame Obama was so quick to drop one of America's closest allies in the region in favor of the unknown.
