The need to preempt Iran and export gas to Egypt was the reason the government gave to push through its controversial plan for Israel's natural gas. Now, this reason may no longer exist.08:52 31.08.15 | 1 comments
I am one of the people mentioned in this article and I was mistakenly referred to as the matriarch of the Jewish Community in Iceland! I have never identified myself with the Jewish religion, only with being ethnically Jewish. I have been a secular Humanist all of my adult life as well as the founder and head of the Icelandic Ethical Humanist organization. I think it is unfair and conclusion-jumping for a reader to label people he has never met as typical cowardly Jews. Most of the Jews in Iceland come from secular backgrounds and while they were interested in occasionally meeting other foreigners with similar backgrounds and having their kids learn something about their ethnic Jewish roots, it does not mean they are cowards just because they are not interested in creating a Jewish religious organization.
