Not the Orthodox, not the settlers, not the brilliant academics, not the elitist Left or the paranoid, fear mongaring Right - Israel is and always has been ruled by a very small but powerful circle of families that dictate economic policy including how many illegal foreign workers he need. They live nowhere near "Little Africa", the section of South Tel-Aviv which has been taken over by more than 30,000 illegal migrant workers mainly from Sudan and Eritrea. They changed the daily non-skilled workers rate from 200 NIS a day to just 80 NIS and by doing so, have forced many middle class Israelis into poverty and caused crime statistics to skyrocket. No law has ever passed that would result in heavy fines and jail terms for employers of illegal workers. The facilities of this newspaper as well as nearly every major business and municipality in Israel are cleaned by illegal workers, employed through legal 'manpower agencies' companies. Tzur is just another shark looking to profit in a political pool full of piranhas.
