This is a great article and a delicate subject. To be honest...I think of American Jews to be different from Jews in most of the other countries in the world of course including Israel. American Jews are too divided in all this streams of Judaism (conservative, orthodo, reform, reconstructionist, you name it)...and that is the starting point of all divisions, all this so called "multiculturalism" is being applied also to Judaism with so many streams that result somehow ridiculous and divisive, most countries in the world you are either religious or traditional, and above all you are ZIONIST no matter what, and support Israel no matter what, you can of course criticize but in close doors. then I found that Israelies and jews of the golah are more united than american jews, who have more in common given their passport than their judaism, of course amongst orthodox judaism prevails and i applaud that. I am not trying to hurt anyone in this chat, but this is how I feel after 15 years as a foreign jew in the US
