Two thoughts came to me reading this: First: Does this mean that the state should have no mercy when calling up young religious men for military duty? Second: Having no mercy on the battlefield does not mean committing atrocities. I have noted that some have tried to make this a call to commit genocide, that interpretation is virulent racism and usually an attempt to justify genocide.
