Israel's Foreign Ministry ordered to 'reassess' EU involvement with Palestinians after decision to label West Bank goods; 'decision is almost completely devoid of any real significance,' official says.23:15 29.11.15 | 10 comments
1. "Behind almost every successful Israeli politician is a Jewish tycoon, particularly since the system of primaries was instituted. Behind every tycoon is his pet politician." There is nothing specifically jewish in this almost universal (bad) situation. 2. Looking more closely, the problem is less of characters (as this piece would let us think) - most of us have no idea of who these particular people are and actually do not care - than of public government. If public government is to be more than an expression devoid of meaning, then it should be public, accountable, and independent of corporations. The actual policy of the government represents a compromise between the commercial empires competing for power and writing the script for most policies and laws - rarely the actual democratic choice. Naturally the terrible financial dependence of the US makes it even worse.
