The idea that the two-state solution has fallen by the wayside and therefore there is no alternative but the one state solution is a total fallacy. One Jewish Palestinian state can never come into being born out of a lack of any other alternative. It can only come into being after years of living as neighbors in two separate states and mutual cooperation. If there is no longer an option for two states, out of which one state could emerge in the distant future, than that leaves us with no solution whatsoever, since continued occupation of the Palestinians or Israel taking responsibility for the West Bank and Gaza is alos not an option. This is the tragedy - we are left with a vacuum of no solutions. In the case of the Middle East, Two minus one does not equal one.
