Is this article supposed to make us feel sorry for the loonies (the forces of good) being attacked by Israeli commandos (the forces of evil)? As a draft for a cheap novel it might be OK – but as a piece of objective journalism it leaves a lot to be desired. What is really interesting is the desperate attempt to depict the Israeli forces in a bad light when – reading between the lines – they seemed to be the epitome of kindness. Drinking water? Fruit? Medical checks? This is how badly they were treated? And after all that – what punishment for the intrepid reporter? Nothing! Zilch! Nada! - not even a pat on the wrist! Just a stamp on the passport and “welcome to Israel and have a nice day! “ Are reporters ( I use the term loosely) somehow immune from being treated the same as other lesser mortals? ( the other loonies were arrested and will be imprisoned pending deportation)
