For sure strange bedfellows exist.Islamic fundamentalism is a danger as much to many arab leaders as it is to Israel and the one common antithesis is America. The writer,Bar'el,complains about Silvan Shalom shunning Abbas, but Abbas so far has not made a stand against the Islamicists, prefering to court them than fight them. Islamic fundamentalism is a threat to Musharaf,King Abdullah,Mubarak and even the Princes of Arabia, who buy them but know they are a far greater threat than Israel is. So yes they have a common partner in America, while still playing the Anti Israeli game against the purists. So maybe this is the start of an official block. In the coming years, nuclear bombs will be the problem for not only Israel, but for these countries too. This is the big problem. It is a time now they they all must get together to defeat the forces of evil in its cloak of puritanism,Islamic Fundamentalism. I think this is whats really happening and the Palestinian issue is a focus point, thats all. So for the Palestinians I say, join the good guys against this major threat to world peace by working against these absolutists now.
