Comparisons sometimes favor one side over the other, but not in this case. Both men have/had positives and negatives. I'm not so sure that Rabin was more honest than Sharon, or more trustworthy. They both were/are dictatorial and somewhat arbitrary. Sharon the more distinguished military man and more savy politician, Rabin less arrogant and more conscious of his limitations. Since Rabin is no longer here to subject us to his faulty judgement I'm more inclined to reflect on his positives. I wish Sharon would retire from public life (through non-violent political means) so that I could begin thinking less negatively of him as well.
