    Yes, Palestinian Jews and Arabs did live side by side until 1948. You might remember that the Arabs then lost their homeland in order that the Jews might have a new one. The arabs had nothing to do with the Holocaust - and could not understand why the surviving Jews did not return to their homes in Europe. The creation of the Jewish Homeland was a catastrophe for the Palestinians on whose land that homeland was built. So much for 'a land without people for a people without a land."
