Lieberman is not Foreign Minister of Israel because he does not represent Israelis. Rather Israel's politicians, especially Netanyahu and Barak, have chosen to give him the right to speak for Israel in all matters involving foreign policy. I understand why the Government of Egypt is trying to downplay what Lieberman told the United Nations. Were his words not those of Israel he never would have been able to deliver them. Only Israel may disown him, and Netanyahu has not.
