The mud-slinging associated with election time political activity is not unique to Turkey. What is unique in the way these upcoming elections are evolving in Turkey, is that candidates, national as well as as expatriate, are working hard to take accountability and responsibility for the past 10 years of phenomenal economic growth Turkey has accomplished. Turkey's politics and its economy has gone through radical changes. There are school of thoughts, secular, religious, mix of the two, Eurasian, Middle Eastern and European Union centered, that are clashing for the hearts and minds of the "New Turk" that is young, urban, educated, technological and absolutely confident that they are important in Turkey and the region. The next generation of these New Turks, in a nation of 80 million and a GDP exceeding 1 trillion USD and growing at +4% annually, will each have a different perspective of their reason for existence and potentials.
