As a global citizen, I am on Turkey's side. It better represents the rights of the oppressed. Since 1945 alone, the US has a long and egregious record of killing millions of unarmed civilians. For example, from 1950-53, it killed two to three million non-combatants in the bombing of North Korea. In yet another example, since 1991, it has killed nearly two million Muslims in Iraq. The US is a nation state that from its inception has waged a ceaseless war on non-combatants. Ethnic cleansing is its military’s default position. When will the killing stop? This is in essence Turkey’s position, which is why it is being castigated for trying to stop the next US assault, this time on the Iranians.
