'There is no danger that justifies any limitation of freedom,' writes judge, rejects police request for restraining order against Ezra Nawi and Guy Butavia.00:11 12.02.16 | 0 comments
There is widespread unrest in Turkey where 600 prisoners have been on hunger strike to protest the ban on the Kurdish language and freedom of speech, imprisonment of politicians, authors and journalists-Turkey imprisons more journalists than any other country in the world. Thousands more have joined the hunger strike in Turkey and there are protests against the country in the EU and the US. Turkey is desperate to shift the focus from the human rights violations at home by portraying herself, deceptively, as the champion of Palestinian human rights. This is therefore, a sham trial to serve Erdogan's government agenda to isolate the hunger strikers and the Kurdish civil disobedience in support of them.
