Gary, most of the Turks (50%) oppose the islamic party which won the elections and has the parliament at the moment but also about 95% of Turks think that Israel is treating bad to Palestinians. It's not only Turks thinking this way. Israel's allies in the region are leaving Israel alone when it comes to Palestinian-Israel issue. Army's role being reduced is a good thing in democractic countries, you wouldn't want the Canada Army ruling the country right? That's why we vote for. We have enjoyed good relations with Israel but that doesn't mean that we have to close our eyes, ears and mouth when a friend does wrong. With Turkey improving relations with our fellow Kurd Citizens, Armenia, Syria, Iraq, Iran I think Turkey is showing an improvement in neighbouring relations and thus getting strong politically. Maybe Israel should do the same to have the support of it's allies.
