As a good, enlightened, highly-educated, and practising Muslim(praying only 2 times day, but no sin whatsoever since Iwas 15, now 60), I dare say that the approach being taken by the AKP, Mr. Erdogan and Mr Gul, far from being a 'softening of ideology' captures the quintessential tolerance of Islam in the most constructive and spectacular manner possible. Allahu-Akbar. May Israel learn from Turkey, may US learn from Turkey for its own benefit (no anti-Americanism from me quite the contrary; but anti-neocon, anti-imperialist? Yeah: ready to die fighting these), may Pakistan, certain factions in Iran (but most Iranains are as adm9rable as Turks, and while I won't speak for Ahmadi-Nejad, Rafsanjani won't get Khamenei's seat as the spindoctors want you to believe. Tolerans is the most supreme value of Islam.
