I am amazed to read this commentary. A connection between the world view of the Serbs and Israeli nationalists, which has been obvious to many like myself for a long time. Both view themselves as historical victims and as such have the right to do whatever they feel as long as it can be justified on the basis of past wrongs done to them. One fact is that Israel never condemned the Serbs in the recent Yugoslav wars. During the blockade of weapons in the 1990s Israeli munitions were used against the Bosnians in the shelling of Sarajevo. The lack of condemnation regarding Milosevic's policies of ethnic cleansing was due to the thought among Israeli nationalists that they might one day have to do the same thing and expel the Palestinians from the Jordan valley. This despite the fact that Jews around the world, outside Israel, were totally opposed to Milosevic and Karadzic's policies. I have been to Israel and seen first hand the treatment of Arabs at the hands of the Israeli police, the overt hostility and racism. I really hope that those Israelis who wish for peace can get their country back.
