One of the very few things I appreciated about the second Lebanon war, was that many Western merchants left Lebanon. For not only foreign military presence (like Hezbollah's militia or Tzahal) but other material superiority, too, can hurt a country's independence, by price politics, by contractual obligations... Who knows if downgrading Israeli-European relations cannot have positive effects on Israeli economy, too. Looking for other trade partners can be part of new Israeli diplomatic endeavours. It's sad enough to see that the ministry of foreign affairs is formally led by the Prime minister: His side job, so to speak.
