Syria doesnt like George W. George W. labelled them, rightfully so, part of his "Axis of Evil". Now down by one, The Axis is down to Syria and Iran, but that too is changing. Bushie thinks his magic wand will create peace in the Middle East. He needs to go back to Church to pray more for that one. However to translate Syria's remarks, Bush is holding his ground on what Syria needs to do to get all that nice U.S. cash for peace with Israel. Lets face reality, its not about land, its not about liking Jews, or liking Israel. Their hatred runs too deep, and they will never really make true peace. But to the tune of 2 billion or more per year, Syria wants some of that famous U.S. Dinero!!! Bushie isn't forthcoming unless his conditions are met. He plays poker well. So Assad is throwing in with Iran. But now Iran might be working a deal with the U.S. also, so would Syria be far behind?? This statement would all but assure that the U.S. would leave Syria alone to its own devices. Part 2

Why we don't know how to pick our leaders

Our craving for ideology means that we are partial to ideological leaders. But we need leaders who will make smart decisions that are aligned with the public interest.
