And what has been the consequence of the UN being informed of the Iranian nuclear program? Specifically, what action has been taken at the council as a result of IAEA reporting? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING of any practical consequence. Any anxiety/inconveneinces the Iranians feel their program generates is solely based on, first and formost, Israel and US activity, follwoed by those heeding their call such as UK, France. The UN Sec Council, with Russia and China leaning towards theior interests in Iran, would NEVER do anything to stop this march. Israel can not afford to wait till the nuclear cat is out of the bag in Iran and Syria. Everyone acts in their own interest. That is what is called REAL POLITIK. Thus, Israel has to act, IAEA or not.
