Can't completely dismiss Nasrallah for expecting Israel to play by the old rules: eyes for eyes; teeth for teeth; and prisoners for prisoners. The great moral collapse here is that Olmert had changed the rules long beforehand. His horribly disproportionate response was pre-meditated: Any cross-border incursion would have precipitated the bombing and destruction of Lebanon. The kidnappings served the same role as Iraq's non-existent WMDs. Too bad hawkish leaders were as unpopular before their attacks as they are now, while losing. And too bad the citzenry were less infatuated with war and its false promises.
