We Germans certainly took a while though until we got there. Its a different generation of germans, many have never met anyone who was directly involved. The perpetrators of nazi-past have become unpersonal and detached figures from black and white pictures. It is easier to criticise them, than your own loving parents. Germans have learnt to be very critical of their past, other countries tend to harbour a certain pride of their history. With a clearly growing sense of national identity amongst germans, I doubt that the aforementioned vigour in airing out the dirty laundry will last very long. Nationalism is a bitch.
