Too many people are rubbing their hands with glee, especially on the left, and the man hasn't had a hearing. Too many people are acting like blue-nosed Puritans in a country where illicit sex is a 'national sport'. Why aren't people acting with prudence until the man has his hearing and demand outright resignation? In a contry where a girl that comes into the army without having had sexual experience is looked upon as a 'freak', People from the leftist kibbutzim where boys and girls take showers together, are piously demanding resignation. What political sin did moshe Katzav commit , that he should receive this treatment? Even the people in Kiryat Malachi, Katzav's hometown are surprised. Make no mistake,if a court of law in an open trial the prosecution brings irrefutable evidence, that Katzav cannot refute, and convicts him, or if somewhere along the line Katzav admits his guilt I would say "throw the 'book' at him". However now even before a hearing, everything is premature.
