Just for the record, Blair is presently the mediator of the Quartet for the economic development of the West Bank. He is doing a good job, in that he is bringing the PA to the point where they can declare a state THIS year, because their economic and political institutions are almost ready for the task. This is why I thought he would also do a good job if his responsibilities are expanded to take over from Mitchell. Perhaps I am wrong, but then people should try to identify another European influential.
